Pete Stevens of Wal Basses passes away

"Dear friends
I was just reached by the news that my old pal Pete “the fish” Stevens has passed away.
For those that do not know of Pete, he was the luthier at Wal Basses. Ian Waller was the conceptualist and Electronics guy Pete built the instruments.
Pete was a dear friend although we sadly lost contact over the last couple of years. How typical it is that you keep thinking "I should give Pete a call" only to bitterly discover one day that it is too late.
I met both of them in the early 80s and became an endorser and close friend. They built me my famous double neck bass (the first fretted fretless doubleneck bass ever built I believe) and stayed friends for life.
Wal passed away in July 1988 only 43 years old.
Pete and Wal were essential to my development as a musician through the instruments they built for me. Both of them have now past to eternity and legend, They are deeply missed here on earth!
To Pete, rest in peace friend, my hopes are that your family will find comfort in your fullness of life and your fantastic achievements.
God bless, Jonas"
