Jonas joined his friends in German percussion group Buschwerk for a show in Luxemburg on the 22nd of November. Jonas did a solo set and also joined the group in a couple of numbers.

So Jonas and Ginger finally got together to play again. Rehearsals, well sort of, were conducted at John Henry’s rehearsal studios in London.
The Band consisted of guitarist Chris Goss that played with Ginger in Masters of Reality, percussionist Abass Doodo nephew of J C Commodore who was in Gingers African Force, Peter King alto saxophonist that Ginger played with as far back as the late 50’s and Gingers daughter Leda Baker on guitar.
The indefatigable Hagar provided backline support in cooperation with drum legend in his own right Rat Scabies.
A quick run thru of some picks from different eras of Gingers long career seemed to be adequate for a birthday jam.
The night of the Party/Show the Jazz Café was jam packed with Ginger fans lucky enough to get a ticket and old friends Bakers.
Even Eric Clapton showed up to greet his old band mate and Steve Winwood helped close the night with 2 Blind Faith numbers.

Jonas Hellborg and Ginger Baker worked a lot together in the late 80's early 90's. They recorded several records like Middle Passage, Bass and Unseen Rain and toured with different formations in both the US and Europe.
On the event of the release of Gingers autobiography the two participate in a concert in London Wednesday 4th of Nov that also includes key figures from Mr. Bakers long and varied career. It will for sure be an extraordinary evening.

Jonas played a mini concert for the German President Horst KOEHLER on the 7th of October. The occasion was a visit by the German Head of State to Warwick Headquarters in Markneukirchen in recognition of the positive effect the company has had on the development of the German Musical Instrument Industry.
Mr. Koehler was very intrigued by the performance that included a movement from J.S. Bach’s Cello Suite in C and invited Jonas for a lengthy discussion on the state of Instrument manufacturing in Europe and the risk low price instruments poses to the future of quality Musical Instruments.

Bardo Records have just released Jonas Latest release Art Metal on iTunes, Amazon.com and other download sites.
Art Metal is one branch of Jonas collaboration with the extraordinary guitarist Mattias IA Eklundh.
In the works right now is a new Jonas Hellborg Group record featuring IA and the excellent Indian drummer Ranjit Barot who was recently heard playing the Kit on John McLaughlin's recent release "Floating Point".

Jonas joined French music composer and pianist Laurent Levesque for a (as the French say) ciné-concert at the Forum des Images in Paris on the 11th of July. The film that received a fresh on the spot sound track was One Eyed Jacks directed and starred in by Marlon Brando.

On the 22^nd of April the Jamshed Bhabah Auditorium, Indias premier concert hall, was the setting for a spectacular concert joining Jonas and Selvaganesh with extraordinary musicians U Shrinivas (mandolin) and Shankar Mahadevan.

The other set was a collaboration between Jonas and free funk legend Jean Paul Bourelly backed up by the free floating drum stalwart Willi Kellers.

Jonas also took the opportunity to record in Ranjit Barot's studio Clearlight Productions where he met fellow bassist and Warwick endorser Karl Peters.
